The RLRX2PI_xx is suitable for any application where visual indication of Ringline channel status is required, including hazardous area indication. The module is ideal for leveraging Ringline’s reliability and long distance (up to 12km) capability to provide remote visual indication of digital process variables without need of a local power supply. Examples include pump monitoring, level indicators, flow sensors etc.
E.g. failsafe (single-fault tolerant) monitoring may be implemented by dual-channel process feedback and standard Ringline complimentary logic transmission, where 1:0 = healthy and 0:1 = tripped. The LED display might typically be configured with green for the A-channel and a red for the B-channel, so the healthy [1:0] state registers ‘green LED on’ and the tripped state [0:1] registers as ‘red LED on’. Illegal states [0:0] and [1:1]
would result in both LEDs off, or both on respectively. See following for LED colours and combinations.
