Bearing Temperature Monitoring in Conveyor Systems
In large-scale conveyor systems—common in mining, bulk materials handling, and processing plants—bearing failure due to overheating is a leading cause of unplanned downtime and fire risk. Ringway’s Ringline temperature probes are deployed to monitor surface and internal bearing temperatures, especially where lubricant breakdown above 90°C can lead to catastrophic mechanical damage.
Using lug-style sensors mounted externally or stem-style probes inserted into bearing housings, operators can continuously trend temperature data via Ringline analogue transmitters. This enables predictive maintenance, allowing teams to intervene before failure occurs. The intrinsically safe design ensures compliance in hazardous zones, while quick-disconnect M8 connectors simplify sensor replacement without rerouting cables.
