The Ringway Temptrans is a DIN rail mounted transducer that provides a 4-20mA output signal (for a temperature range of 0 - 150 degrees Celsius) based on the input signal it receives from a field temperature transmitter (Tempsens). Test terminals give access to a precision 100-Ohm resistor in connected in series with the output terminals. The output signal level can be measured with a multimeter connected between the Test terminal (T) and the Out + terminal. The full range of the output signal (4 - 20mA = 0 - 150 degrees) will produce a 0.4V to 2.0V voltage drop across these terminals. A voltage free relay contact output is provided to indicate the failure of an input sensor (Tempsens). The Tempsens will be deemed to be faulty if the input is open circuit, short circuit or if the signal is out of range.
